The Wavy Trail offers breathtaking sea views over Gallinara island and the marina. With gentle ups and downs, it runs through the dense Mediterranean brush of myrtle, holm oak and rockrose.
To access this trail, you need to get to the church of Santa Croce and take the steep path which starts around 100 metres before the little square in front of the church as you come from Solva, climbing the ridge towards Monte Bignone. From here, you continue to climb through the fragrant Mediterranean brush until you reach a mountain pass, where a number of paths converge. Take the one on the right signed Sentiero dell’Onda. The trail is marked with red wave waymarkers and weaves its way along the mountainside, parallel to the Via Iulia Augusta but much higher up. Just over halfway along the trail, you will meet the footpath coming down from Monte Bignone to Albenga which is another option.
Whatever your choice, this trail is high up the hillside, giving wonderful views over the whole bay.
